The "Finger3D" application transforms your device into a compact and portable 3D modeling tool, capable of creating three-dimensional objects directly through touch interactions. It offers a range of geometric primitives—including spheres, cylinders, cones, cubes, planes, surfaces, discs, and curves—paralleling those found in conventional desktop 3D modeling software.

Users can adjust various parameters such as lighting (e.g., lamp position), material properties (color, textures), and object transparency. Navigation within the 3D environment is facilitated through intuitive finger gestures, allowing switching between different views including top (Y up), right (X up), and front (Z up), as well as immersive first-person navigation modes.

Modeling features include scaling, rotating, and moving vertices either by dragging fingers across the screen or using a virtual 3D pointer depicted as a blue ball. The size of this pointer can be customized with the "POINTER RADIUS" control, enabling precise selection and manipulation of multiple components simultaneously. Coordinates can be entered manually for accurate positioning.

The software provides a set of practical tools for 3D modeling tasks such as character modeling with background images, subdivision of faces, extrusions in various directions, smoothing (for terrains or landscapes), vertex linking for complex shapes like arrows or animal parts, copying and mirroring objects, editing faces or vertices, and revolve operations to generate symmetrical objects or characters.

Additional functionalities include grouping/ungrouping elements, undo/redo capabilities, rendering images (JPG/PNG) directly onto the device's photo album, and exporting models in OBJ+MTL formats for compatibility with popular desktop 3D applications like Maya or Blender.

Perspective and orthographic projections are supported to facilitate detailed viewing angles. The "Projects Archive" allows users to save, organize, load, and merge multiple projects efficiently. Animated views can be activated to explore models interactively. An innovative feature enables applying photographs taken with the device’s camera as textures on models, enhancing realism in visualization.

The graphics engine harnesses OpenGL technology with hardware acceleration akin to that used in gaming applications, ensuring smooth performance. The tool finds utility across numerous fields—engineering disciplines, architecture, chemistry (molecular design), space exploration, design industries, filmmaking, gaming development, biology, and interior design.

Designed to work seamlessly with "FingerCAD," Finger3D can model designs initiated from 2D CAD drawings within a 3D environment. It offers advanced options such as texture mapping, first-person virtual reality navigation, and realistic rendering to support comprehensive design workflows.
